Laptop overheating

You might be wondering why your laptop is gradually running hotter and louder recently... The most common reason is simple, dust build up! Over the years, a gradual build up of dust can form an almost carpet like layer between the laptop's heatsink and fan. The fan then has to work harder (and louder!) to cool the laptop. Over time this can cause heat damage inside the laptop and eventually lead to component damage. Keeping the laptop on a hard surface and in a relatively dust free environment often helps slow down the dust built up.
