Internet Service Providers (ISPs) often provide free email accounts with broadband services. Using free email might seem like a good idea at the time and while this may be fine for some, there are some potential pitfalls to be aware of!
Sometimes we decide to change ISPs, this can be due to poor service, finding a more competitive deal elsewhere or simply because the ISP does not offer a service in your new area.
So now have you considered what would happen to your free email accounts once the old broadband service is disconnected? Some ISPs may cancel the email accounts or ask for a monthly fee to keep them active. Other ISPs may keep the email service going although with no broadband revenue it's hard to know what incentive they have to provide this service.
